Stellantis and Mistral AI accelerate AI integration redefining customer experience and manufacturing
Stellantis N.V., a leading global automaker, and Mistral AI, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence company, today announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership. Building on a successful year of collaboration, the two companies are deepening their integration of AI across Stellantis’ operations, from vehicle engineering and in-car experiences to manufacturing and customer interactions.
This expanded partnership leverages Mistral AI’s expertise in large language models (LLMs) and AI-driven automation to enhance Stellantis’ data analysis, streamline development processes, and elevate customer engagement. A key focus of this collaboration is the development of an advanced AI-powered in-car assistant, designed to revolutionize the way drivers interact with their vehicles.
Revolutionizing the In-Car Experience
Stellantis and Mistral AI are jointly developing a next-generation in-car assistant that will enable drivers to engage with their vehicles using natural, conversational language. This AI-powered assistant will function as a real-time, voice-activated user manual, providing immediate guidance on vehicle features, troubleshooting, and warning indicators.
Imagine being able to ask your car, “How do I adjust the adaptive cruise control?” or “What does this warning light mean?” and receiving clear, concise answers in natural language. This is the level of intuitive interaction that Stellantis and Mistral AI aim to deliver. The assistant will be continuously updated and adaptable to Stellantis’ various brands and models, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience for every driver.
AI-Driven Innovation Across Stellantis
Beyond the in-car assistant, Stellantis and Mistral AI are collaborating on several other AI-driven initiatives:
Bill of Materials (BOM) Data Intelligence: A specialized AI tool that streamlines the analysis of complex component databases. Powered by Mistral AI, this tool will help engineers identify, compare, and optimize part selections, maximizing reuse and efficiency.
Vehicle Feedback Data Analysis: AI-powered automation will process data from development fleets and customer surveys, quickly identifying trends and areas for improvement in product quality and customer satisfaction.
“Club Stellantis” Virtual Assistant: A multilingual chatbot to assist Stellantis employees in France with purchasing company vehicles, with plans to expand this service across Europe.
AI-Driven Anomaly Detection: Mistral AI’s edge computing models are being evaluated for real-time detection of manufacturing errors, enabling operators to take immediate corrective actions and enhance quality control.
