Audi Unveils the New Entry-Level Q6 e-tron Model for €63,500
Audi has officially launched a new entry-level version of its electric SUV, the Q6 e-tron, equipped with a smaller battery. The new model features a 75.8 kWh net (83.0 kWh gross) battery, providing a driving range of up to 533 kilometers per charge according to the WLTP standard. The rear-wheel-drive motor delivers up to 215 kW (292 horsepower), allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h.
With the addition of this new variant, the Q6 e-tron lineup now includes two rear-wheel-drive and two all-wheel-drive models. The previous base model, priced at €68,800, comes with a 94.9 kWh net battery, offering a range of 641 kilometers and a power output of 240 kW (326 horsepower). The new, more affordable version, priced at €63,500, is equipped with a battery that has 10 modules instead of 12, reducing the number of cells from 180 to 150. As a result, the charging capacity is slightly lower, with the new model able to charge at 225 kW, compared to the higher-end models that can charge between 260 and 270 kW.
The new entry-level model boasts the lowest official energy consumption in the Q6 e-tron range, at 16.0-18.6 kWh per 100 kilometers. This efficiency is likely due to the less powerful drivetrain and the 75-kilogram reduction in weight, with the vehicle weighing 2,200 kilograms compared to the 2,275 kilograms of the higher-spec Q6 e-tron Performance.
Audi’s latest electric model is the first to be built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), a platform shared with the Porsche Macan. The Q6 e-tron made its world debut in March with two all-wheel-drive variants: the Q6 e-tron quattro, featuring 285 kW (388 horsepower) and a range of 625 kilometers, and the sportier SQ6 e-tron, with a system output of 380 kW (517 horsepower) and a range of 598 kilometers. The SQ6 e-tron can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h.
In May, Audi introduced the rear-wheel-drive Q6 e-tron Performance variant, which features a 94.9 kWh (net) battery providing a range of up to 641 kilometers and a power output of 240 kW (326 horsepower). Starting this month, Audi is offering a more accessible rear-wheel-drive version. Additionally, Sportback versions with a coupe-style rear are expected to join the Q6 e-tron lineup. There are also rumors of an RS Q6 e-tron that could deliver more than the 380 kW (517 horsepower) offered by the SQ6 e-tron.
