On the night of Feb. 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Student Activities Board ran a Luau event outside of the Main Stage.

Julie Ciardi, the large event coordinator, said, “I looked at lot on Pinterest of cool tropical ideas. I wanted to have an event that brought back like sunshine and a spring kind of idea. Which is funny because it is like 60 degrees outside in February and that doesn’t usually happen.”

There was a tropical setting to take pictures and tropical snacks were given out. In the actual MainStage, there was an bouncy inflatable house that students could have fun on. A new Ukulele club had a table looking for students to recruit to the club.

In the past, Ciardi coordinated a stress-free smoothie event but wanted a bigger setting for the students.

“This is a larger kind of more relaxed and chill event,” he said.

Erika Miano, a freshman here at Fisher, said she heard about the event from her friends in SAB specifically from Sam Bartolone, the digital media coordinator.

“I came here to meet up with my friends, eat the snacks and play games,” Miano said.  She insisted that she will attend a SAB event again in the future.
