Matt Cermanski was a part of the show ‘The Voice’ on NBC, which was a big reason for why he came to St. John Fisher College. Cermanski performed on the Main Stage in the campus center on Oct. 13 at 9:30 p.m.

Jordan Wood, Nightlife Coordinator for Student Activities Board (SAB) “saw Matt back on season three of ‘The Voice.’ I am a big fan of the show…I googled his name and popped up and it just happened.”

Wood explained the type of music that Cermanski performed. He sang “a variety…he threw it all the way back to the early 90’s to present day.”

Cermanski works with the Degy Entertainment Agency that allows him to perform at many campuses around the US. He played a mixture of original songs and covers.

For the Fisher students that are starting their musical careers, Cermanski’s advice is,“for anybody who wants to be musician or an actor or wants to be a dancer, whatever they want to do, just do it because the only thing that is holding you back is yourself,” said Cermanski.

Students joined in the concert throughout the duration of the hour event.

“My motto is always ‘quality over quantity,’” said Wood. “Had a blast and everyone here had a blast so that’s all that really matters.”

Sam Bartolone, a freshman, said “I really enjoyed it. I would definitely come again.”

“I would definitely recommend that he does come back for future years…I would love for him to come back,” said Wood.
